It appears the case is now being closed by Scotland Yard.

Statute of Limitations in Portugal is 15 years which may lead to the police being desperate to find someone. I don't really expect anything to change tbh.

Should be simple to disprove with the DNA.

I kinda disagree with the folks who say "You can CLEARLY see that they're related" after the above person posted a pic of her mother. There's a number of stories, one from baseball, of people with the same names who look like twins..

So.. Weird things happen. I doubt that's the case here.. But there's zero harm in the DNA test being done and that will settle it.

Madeline had a different shaped face than this young woman does. Madeline had more of a heart shaped face and this young lady's face is more of an oval.

I'm sure that nothing will come of the DNA testing. But might as well test to confirm that it isn't her.

I'll agree if we narrow it down a bit more. If you look at the two pics, something that I think you certainly can focus on is the chin. Madeline's comes to a point, whereas the other person has a very 'flat' bottomed chin.. So, unless she's had work done.. That wouldn't change.

I think that's what you mean by the shape?

Regardless. DNA is the best way to put this to bed. That being said.. There's always going to be one out there that will say this is a conspiracy.

The young lady's face is a long oval. Madeleine's face is a broader heart shape with a delicate pointy chin.

They are both pretty in their own way, but they are two different people.

I'm no expert, so.. Take this as a question and not me saying you're wrong.

but, elongation of the face.. Wouldn't growth explain that? Growth isn't going to change the shape of the chin.. Even the overall 'shape' of the face, i'd be concerned that from the young age that Madeline was.. So much baby fat on the face, I wouldn't be confident of the actual bone structure.

That's why I tend to focus on the minutia. we can look at the chin, and there's one that comes to a point and one that's flat. So far as I know, only thing that would change that would be surgery. And we can see the structure there, not fat.
