I am a firm believer that a victim/survivor of a violent crime and/or any crime actually makes the best victim advocate -- and we are hearing more and more about those victims [or in case of murder, someone from the victim's family becoming an advocate.
We have Adam Walsh, we have Dr. William Petit [CT and he has, for the time being, given up his medical practice to become an incredible advocate]. There is a dad in VT whose son committed suicide because of constant and horrible cyberbullying who travels everywhere to talk about the horrors of cyperbullying and is taking a proactive position trying to educate the community, educators and legislators about the cyberbullying.
And now, Elizabeth Smart. Good for her! and for all other victim/survivors who are determined to make a difference.
Good for her! She took a negative, horrible event and turned it around into a positive thing by helping
other people who have went through this terrible ordeal...and raising awareness.
I do wonder about this show though...because so many of the children who are "Taken" are really victims of close family members...And I just wonder how healthy this is for her...but...that is neither here nor there...
