i wouldn't think that a bandana hanging from a rearview mirror would be a legit sign of someone being in a gang. it could be someone saying, "hey, i'm down with this set, so don't tag my car/break into it/give me any trouble". and "down with this set" could be simply someone saying, "my brother was in that gang/i got family doing time/i'm from the hood". you don't know where this car has to be parked.
all this sort of reminds me of the list my high school principle showed me of a list of indicators that a kid was a satanist. one of em was that they wore high tops. true story.
a more sensible way of looking at it is- is this germane to my own life?
