EDINA, Minn., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- A woman from the upscale Minneapolis suburb of Edina is facing charges she made her 11-year-old nephew ride in the trunk of her Lexus, police say.
Susan Marie McCarty, 38, allegedly told police she gave the boy the less-than-optimal seating arrangement so he wouldn't drip water on her luxury car's leather seats, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. The boy was damp after going on a water ride at a Twin Cities-area amusement park, a criminal complaint stated.

W. T. F. ?
Isn't the whole point of leather seats that they are hardier and take the wear and tear better?
I had suede seats once...that really wouldn't have taken water well...but I'll be damned if I would have made a kid ride in the truck...holy cow. Nut jobs everywhere.

Maybe extra dry clothes in the trunk to change into instead of putting the child in the trunk. Cripes, some people, you just cannot fix stupid. It also tells a lot about her character in my opinion caring for her vehicle seats more than the safety of her nephew.

Awful and insensitive. And for what? A car? Stuff? I think some get so riled on having "Stuff" to reflect their status that they see these things above human relationships. Not cool. Stuff can be replaced-And if not, What the hell. People cannot come back once gone and her relationships with these kids may never be the same.
Me personally, I have more and more come to dislike "stuff" except for some music, photos and sentimental items. Feel weighed down, ya know?

I hope she doesn't have any pets and is never allowed to see her nephew again. Moron.

I don't see the point of that, as the trunk's carpet's musta gotten wet.
If it were Mitt Romney's vehilce, the kid could have air dried on the drive home whilst hanging onto the roof rack.
That woman is stupid!
