He did not deceive her for sex. On the contrary, she deceived him about being content with only a friendship that happened to include sex. She said as much on those tapes.
Even after over 20 years, if I see someone who resembles the person who abused me, my heart starts racing and I start hyperventilating. If she was so abused by Travis she would never have tried to see him, much less drive a thousand miles to have sex with him.

As an overview of this case, to Jodi, this isn't about the crime, it's about her living, or dying.
So if she's lying to save her own neck......
How far will she go to live? Who'd deciding the right to live, the right to fight for her survival?
It's a strong instinct to fight to survive, in humans. If, it's excusable to kill to survive, why is it surprising she would lie to save her life?
In wars there are rules of engagement, however it's acceptable and expected to kill for political agendas.

If he hadn't been dead for 5 years, if I was Catholic and had a 12 year old daughter, I wouldn't particularly want her in the woods with any adult man alone. But if this absurd hypothetical situation actually were to happen, my guess is that he might try to convert her to Mormonism but wouldn't lay a finger on her.
