CrazeeCat Lady- that is exactly what I was going to say! Exactly - thanks! Another Les Miserables!! Should she have taken/eaten the oreos, maybe not and perhaps, as Genghis said, even worse, Heathbar Crunch! even more risky[smile] -- I am not negating the seriousness of theft, whether by an employee or a shoplifter, truly I am not - however, somewhere common sense is in order -- perhaps she could have worked an additional hour to compensate for the $2.59 [give or take] the bag of oreos was; or they could have taken it from her salary -- what if, just saying, she was really hungry, did not have enough money for much else, and needed something to eat -- I think in all practicality/reality, one cannot compare a bag of oreos with say, a TV or computer, etc.

Oh brother.

But it was only the LAST bag of Oreos in a long, long line of 5-finger discounts from this woman. Unless she kept a list of everything she stole it would be impossible to even come up with a clear figure about how much she stole.

This Cookie Monster needs to be put behind bars for life. Walmart is doing every patriotic American a big favor by prosecuting a dangerous cookie terrorist.

No wonder I love shopping so much at Walmart.
----Walmart presses felony charges....

Your headline is very misleading.

Walmart can not decide to press felony charges unless what she stole had a dollar amount high enough to make it a felony.
