LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A professional poker player and former World Series of Poker Main Event champ was one of six men charged in a prostitution sting this week.

According to police in Wake Forest, N.C., Greg Raymer was arrested as part of undercover operation on Wednesday at a hotel.

Police said each of the six men arrested responded to an advertisement posted by an undercover officer on a website often used by prostitutes.

Raymer and the other suspects were charged with misdemeanor prostitution and attempted crimes against nature, according to Wake Forest police.

Raymer was placed on $1,000 bond and had a court date set for April 18.

Raymer, 48, of Raleigh, N.C., is best known for outlasting a field of more than 2,500 players in the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event played at Binion's Horseshoe casino in Las Vegas.

Nicknamed "Fossilman", Raymer also frequents poker tournaments and cash games in Las Vegas.

Crimes against nature. Was the undercover officer a monkey? Seriously, I hope this attempt at shaming rolls off his back. Pay the fine and be more careful next time. People should care less about what consenting adults are doing behind closed doors, with or without an exchange of money, and more about actual "crimes against nature" like human trafficking, rape and child molestation.

Professional poker, prostitution, ... throw in a barbed-wire tattoo and some GHB and this guy gets his douchebag merit badge.

Meh, whatever. If you want to pay to play, you risk the consequences since it is typically illegal most places. He got busted.

It is an example of why I typically go against the suggestions to virgins on this site about just "paying" to get the monkey off their back.
