I like it because it is interesting and dispels a lot of the hype that CSI works like CSI Miami with fancy computer screens.

What do you like about it and who are your favorites?
No doubt..Miami, Birmingham Dallas and Memphis are/were my favorite cities in addition to Cleveland. Can't believe this show is over 10 years old? I have most of the episodes on my Iphone.

These two cities, IMO helped put this show on the map, so to speak.

I can't stand shows like CSI for some reason, but I LOVE real crime shows. My favorite of all is probably Forensic Files. Next would be Disappeared, although even though I know the results won't be good (found!)...I still have hope when watching! I also like Dominic Dunne's show (can't recall name). Most of the ones I liked are on the Investigation Discovery channel. Wicked Attraction is another I like.

I've watched First 48 quite a few times and it really isn't my favorite...a little too scripted and "follow around" filming for me I suppose?

I just like the ones where the "bubba" types act stupid and then get the criminal to open up put their hand on their shoulder just sucking them in, interesting and funny in the same.

Oh I'm amazed at how the detectives know whether someone is lying or not (I often call it wrong.)

Maybe dealing with this stuff every day helps them develop self lie detectors.

Most stuff on ID channel has 65,000 cutaways and drama so I record them and watch first few minutes and last few.

I used to watch it, but every show was pretty much the same:

-black guy is murdered in an urban area
-the murder was probably drug or robbery related
-witnesses/people on the street tell the cops to find a guy who goes by a ridiculous nickname like "pork chop"
-cops either find "pork chop" or "pork chop" turns himself in at the request of his grandmother/aunt
-cops interrogate "pork chop," he denies involvement, and is "currently awaiting trial"
