10-13 pounds in 3 weeks isn't that big of a weight loss. You can do it in about a week if you don't drink fluids as well as eat.
There are reports that the message "What happened to Sherri Papini" was branded on her. It may or may not be an accurate report. If true, it sounds like it was done by someone who knows her or was fascinated by the media coverage.
The severity of the injuries is characterized by the husband. The police have the medical reports.
There is only the description of the 2 Hispanic women. There is no information on the abduction struggle, such as a description of the attackers, or on the period of captivity other than what one might deduce from the husband's description.
I'm now reading that her ex-husband is saying that old skinhead blog was a prank by a classmate who had a run in with her. This is her ex, not her current husband, so maybe it's true.
I've gone back and forth on this so much I'm not going to speculate anymore. I can't wait to find out what really happened.
More recent reports, including a brief statement from her very shaken husband, indicate that Sherri was tortured throughout her captivity. Her nose was broken, her face was covered with bruises ranging from yellow to black and blue, indicating repeated blows over a period of time, her long hair was chopped off - and she was branded. She weighed 87 pounds. She was left with a chain around her waist (and I think hands) and with a bag over her head.
What you mentioned is just what her husband said, after people started bringing up the racist comments. Then he suddenly goes on a rampage in his statement, calling people subhuman (Nazi word), and detailing all these injuries, her slack frame, her hair cut off. As if that's all he cares about, is how his wife looks on the outside, you know, his amazing wife with her signature blond hair. One might start feeling sorry for her, if only we hadn't seen her racist rants.
Yet the woman who called 911 said she saw no injuries and she still had long hair, and was walking when she picked her up. "I saw this woman with long blond hair in the right shoulder of the freeway and she was waving a piece of fabric that looked like a shirt, waving it up and down trying to flag someone down,” the woman, Alison Sutton, tells PEOPLE. “It was obvious: She needed help.” Sutton had no idea who the woman was until an officer called her back later that day. The officer told her Papini was picked up at that same time and location.
Let's not forget the reward offered by Cameron Gamble. Who coincidentally runs an organization called Project TAKEN, that trains missionaries on how to survive...a kidnapping. https://erickaecourtney.com/2016/11/...project-taken/

Wanted to point out that her hair could have been cut off/ trimmed by the medical professionals in order to more easily treat her injuries...
(following this as I used to go through that area ALOT, its pretty bizarre, but theres a lot of meth heads in northern CA, no insult intended, and that drug makes things worse)....
That woman only called 9-11, and it was still dark outside. She also didn't know who the woman was. So she wouldn't be able to make a judgment that the hair had been cropped from its usual length.
Technically, she would've gotten the reward if the ransom deadline hadn't arbitrarily expired. Now, he claims SOME of the reward MAY go to the Papinis. He sounds like someone who's trying to exploit this case for his own publicity.
The racist rants may or may not have any link to the case. There is no evidence that they tried to leave any kind of marking or writing to signify it was race-related. On the other hand, she still lives in the immediate area where she went to school. There would still be people nearby who've had issues/vendettas against her.
The Denise Huskins case was still in the news. It would also raise the bar for how to carry out a hoax or fraudulent kidnapping. You'd better make it look good.
It's like each day this story becomes more interesting. The guy who started the reward money- that is weird that it just expired.... this case is so odd.
News said the sheriff will issue a statement this afternoon.
Hmmmm.. interesting. Maybe they made an arrest?
