I've heard about this guy a few times. m Good argument for universal DNA testing. Of course he could be in prison right now for serial auto theft and we'd never know.
Hey there, you probably already know this but, they DO have DNA samples from the Golden State Killer - aka EAR/ONS that match in several victim's cases, both northern Cal and Southern Cal...but they don't know the identity of the man himself. In California, since 2012 there is Prop 69, so if a person is convicted of a felony, they automatically give a sample of DNA. Since 2012, there's still no actual person to match Gsk's samples to. It is presumed that he'd be in his sixties, so it's possible he's still alive. Many people feel it's getting close and the crime may be solved. Let's hope so.

Does california allow LEO to search for relatives? Some states only allow you to search for exact matches. I think a few allow you to search for near-matches which would tell you if maybe a sibling or an offspring was in the DNA system, and LEO could figure out who he is from that trail.
It seems like they should be able to enter it into the family tree databases too, which has DNA from all sorts of people not convicted of crimes.
I watched a crime show on this recently, only saw part one. I found this a very interesting case especially since there seems to be not much coverage on the main stream and they have no idea who this guy is. I would think this killer should be at least as popular if not more than the Zodiac case, yet not even close!
Sure is! Thanks for links, NG. I'm on the east coast, new to me as well. This guy's made contact in so many ways. The poems and letter about his 6th grade teacher .
How did this psychopath rape 50 women and slide under LEs radar for 40 yrs?
