I think the Zimmerman/Martin story was the first time many/most Americans realized how dirty and dishonest the media is. The lied through their teeth, and throughout the ordeal they continued to show the old, angelic picture of Martin, acting like he was still that age and that innocent. Why didn't they nab one of his Facebook pictures? It would have totally and completely changed the narrative.
Decent, law-abiding America got a real taste of how the media manipulates stories. It was very revealing.
The media had nothing to do with Zimmerman pulling that trigger. It rightfully started covering the story after charges were taking longer and longer to be filed.
Zimmerman lied several times on audio and video tape regarding the shooting of another human being. Why on earth would he need a reason to do that?
Racists around the country all seem to think that every pic of Martin shown was from 5 years earlier. He had only been a 17 year old for 2 weeks before being shot. Face it, there were no pics of Martin as an adult ever taken. Zimmerman made sure of that.
And even if the unarmed Martin gained 40 pounds, he still would have been lighter than the armed Zimmerman.
Being in your own neighborhood, in a public space, and getting out of your car is grounds for someone trespassing to try to cave in your skull!!!

He did not need hospital care that night. Just a tissue. In fact, the second ambulance that was on its way for Zimmerman was told mid-trip that it was not needed. So it went back to the station.
If his job didn't require a physical a couple days later, Zimmerman wouldn't have seen a doctor at all. As we all know, even that examination yielded no evidence of his head being bashed into the pavement.

Absolutely he lied changing his stories exposed by Sean Hannity on video tape well before trial...interesting in his brief 6 min Q&A on You Tube and if I'm not mistaken the anniversary of Trayvons death he credits Hannity for correct reporting.

I would say this was the straw that broke the camel's back; millions of Americans saw Obama for the race baiter he is, and they saw how the media protected him and avoided criticizing him and the Martin defenders. They saw how the Justice Department had been politicized under Eric Holder and Obama and was cherry picking the few race-involved white-on-black incidents to "investigate", while ignoring the thousands of black-on-black and black-on-white incidents.
