The story originally came through my Facebook feed. I did a little research, but apparently, there is some false information out there.
What was false, was that the child is not dead. However, she is hardly "alive and well" as one poster maintains. She was scalded in hot water and burned over 80% of her body. She lost several toes. And now, is disfigured for life.
Were the parents perfect? Obviously not. However, previous to her removal, she was a happy pretty little girl. She was loving and loved. No reports say that she was ever physically, emotionally or sexually abused by her parents.
If anyone thinks that she was better off in foster care, with a child sexual predictor, and later, an abusive and sadistic woman who scalded her in a bath tub - I think you need to re-examine your priorities.
What? Is this the same story? This child was removed by CPS for the mother's drug use and the mom is currently suing the state to regain custody of the still living child. The mother's name is Michelle Calderon, not Caldeon as listed in the story.
The child has, indeed suffered in foster care but is alive and well.
I don't think any child who has been raped repeatedly, and was burned and permanently disfigured can be called "alive and well" by any stretch of the imagination.
I have come to support the death penalty for rape and/or severe abuse of a child.
It is a life sentence for the child and the perp needs to be stopped forever.
I would volunteer to pull the trigger/inject the paralyzing agent/throw the switch etc.
