IMO this case is closed and shouldn’t be reopened. The two murderers are dead and buried. The wife is an old lady that said what she said being in the time and place she lived in. If anything she perjured herself. Yes that was horrible how he died and was a senseless brutal act. But I think to keep bringing up these cases and trying to refresh them just continues to fan more racism and hatred. There’s been numerous documentaries about the case and very graphic photos and deep investigations that have proven the two men were guilty and now they are dead.

Sorry guys, but people need to remember the history of lynching black males in the deep south. It's important so that we don't repeat the past. Yes, it needs to brought up and remembered. The only people who really want to bury it are racists.

I guess we just have very different viewpoints, Priscilla. Carolyn stood behind her husband and did what she could to defend him. I respect her for that. 60 years later, she admitted to lying on the stand, and she did so with a great deal of contrition and regret, all the while knowing that she could still be charged with perjury.

But let's not be disingenuous by continually referring to Till as a "child". He was a teenager, the size of a small adult man, considerably larger than Ms. Bryant. And his behavior that day was certainly not indicative of a childish mind.

What exactly is the history of lynching black males in the deep south? Are we to believe(like you want us to believe in this case) they were guilty of nothing? They were simply chosen at random and lynched for NO REASON? They weren't guilty of a vicious rape, robbery or murder?

Understood it then and understand it now. Do not agree.

The way I see it is not to punish Ms Bryant Donham but to get to the complete and actual facts. And publish them for the record. If a person sees no value in that purpose -- in a democratic republic -- then maybe there's nothing further to say.

Yes actually, they were often chosen at random. And even if they committed a crime, lynching is not the way to handle it, that's mob justice. We have a court system in the USA where you get a trial by a jury of your peers. Ever heard of it?

Do you seriously believe lynching is okay?

Lynching in the United States was legal then and still is today as far as I can find. Yes, "NO REASON" required.

It's not legal, it's just that many attempts to make it a federal crime have failed.

There are hate crime laws and lynching probably falls under that.

It's unbelievable that here we are in the year 2018 and people are still defending lynching.

Un-freaking-believable.
