What took so long? I still don't understand why he was allowed to be out under house-arrest!

IMO, he should be executed.

If someone stole/scammed me out of my retirement I don't know that I wouldn't try and off the person that did it.

Aside from any possible backroom agreements, this sudden acceptance of jail time may have something to do with your feelings, as well. He may easily be a lot safer behind bars than walking around scot-free. Lots of people who got taken in by his scheme may have the same thoughts as you just expressed.

It is ridiculous for prosecutors to make and accept a plea deal when they haven't finished looking for all the money. What incentive does Madoff have now to speak any further about ANYTHING?

There is MUCH MORE to this story that either isn't yet known or hasn't yet been reported.

Just consider that the Social Security Administration is not even under house arrest yet. At least the participants in Madoff' scheme had a choice.

someone already scams you out of money for your retirement, they are called the federal goverment and the ponzie scheme that madoff has been convicted of is also the same as the social security program.

a ponzie scheme is a program that takes money from alot of people and give some of it back to a few of the people, and the person or persons collecting it keep the rest.

this scheme was only made possible by fdr by threatening the SCOTUS to pack it with his stooges to make it constitutional.

When Bernie "Made Off" with all the big name clients money, there was no way he was going to end up as Bernie "Got Off".

Probably because:

1) High profile crime
2) White collar crime involving finance.

It serves as an excellent reminder that the uber wealthy, even those who are disgraced and penniless, are given elevated status in America. His jail cell will be fairly well appointed, but the guy behind bars for a drug offense will likely face crowded and unsafe conditions.
