Now that is saving some tax dollars! No court costs! No prison cost and no bleeding heart liberals defending him because he may have had a tragic childhood.
I was going to start a thread on this. (He was shot-down about 1hr west of Charlotte)
But what should be done about habitual criminals? This guy never had a murder/attempted murder charge but his criminal record was 25pages long (B&E, Armed robbery, traffic offenses, theft, drugs, etc). What can be done about people who constantly get in trouble for minor-almost major things but never get busted for anything too bad until its too late?
Armed robbery should be considered the same as attempted murder and prosecuted the same.

If the law was fair and a person pulled a gun on me and I shot him graveyard dead with no recourse by the perp's family or anyone else,THEN crime would slow down imo.
And he just got out of an 8year sentence I think. But you'd think there's a better way of doing things then what they're doing now.
A few years ago in Charlotte an illegal ("undocumented" whatever you want to call them) was drunk and driving the wrong way on I-485 (loop around Charlotte) and killed a UNCC student. THey found out that he had been deported (maybe arrested, cant really remember now) 16 times at that point. And he was still out doing the same things and finally killed someone.
Sadly, a similar same sort thing happened to two acquaintances of mine. An illegal with three prior alcohol-related convictions plowed into their vehicle while drunk.
Back to topic... Sounds like karma came back and bit this guy in the hindparts. I have always felt that violent criminals should be made to suffer a pain equal to that of their victims. They do say that an eye-for-an-eye makes the whole world blind, but simply locking somebody in a cage for years on end isn't justice. Sorry, but repeat violent criminals is where I break from my touchy-feely, flower-child, love all ideology.

In our state the law is even less strict than your scenario....
Looking at his record it is shocking at what he got away withby being cut loose again and again. I would asy he ups the death penalty vote more like so mnay before him.
Good another moron is dead and we didn't spend millions for a whole appeals process.
