Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The way the media convicts someone before their day in court today makes me sick.

No, they use lethal injection. I think the last time they put someone to death was in the 60's.

Every execution in the USA since 2004 has been by lethal injection, which was first used in Texas in 1982. Lethal injection is also the only form of execution used now in China.

If Hasan had escaped to Canada (or almost any other country), he would not be extradited to the USA for trial unless the Americans guaranteed that he would not be executed. The Amreicans would then be forced to invade Canada and inflict shock and awe on the scoundrels, in order to get Hasan back so we could execute him. Like we did to Panama. Our highest national priority. We will stop at nothing, to kill an evildoer.

OK, let's make you king for a day. How do you write the law that determines who gets a fair trial and who doesn't?

That's a legal issue, since American law says that you're innocent until proven guilty. Hopefully, there won't be any technicalities to get him off the hook.

While a nice sentiment, Lady Justice, if you recall, is blindfolded.

When one bases what should be an honest, dry, emotionalless decision on pure highly charged emotions, then Lady Justice bcomes a vigilanty.

I can certainly understand the emotions involved. If it was my son killed I would want blood too. This is why an impartial judge resides over criminal cases, and jury selection, if it occurs, can be a lengthy process looking for people NOT out for blood.

If you recall, a judge who has a vested interest in a case may excuse himself in favor of another judge taking his place, with no penalty to the State or a misstrial occuring.

I know the guy is guilty, and the only thing the prosecution is going to have to prove is that he was sane at the time of the shootings in this case.

However, in our country, you are innocent until proven guilty. That goes for this crazy guy, and for everyone else.

The good of this rule of law far outweighs the bad with it.

Our government did exactly what the people told it to do. Kill.

The "brave people in the military" are the ones who refused to serve, who stood up and risked the consequences for refusing to kill human beings merely because they were told to do so. That, my friend, is an act that takes courage. It is not bravery to murder innocent defenseless unarmed people with state of the art weaponry while standing behind an impenetrable shield of protection.

The brave hero in the lynch mob is the one who says "No".
We do have a corrupt government and I did not want a war and I have never voted for anyone who has sent soldiers over there to fight. Soldiers take an oath and I don't think it is honorable to break that oath any more than it is honorable for our congress to fail in their duty to uphold the constitution. Most of congress is failing us miserably.

You spoke of a double standard. How about a person who does nothing to defend our country bad mouthing those honorable soldiers who fight so one can have the freedom to do so. They don't just do it for honorable people, they do it for dirt bags too. That is because they care about their country. Wish our president and congress did too.

Actually, it should make it easy just to hook a positive and a negative to the wheel chair.
