17 yr old chelsea king went jogging last thurs (4 days ago) in san diego county & hasnt been seen since. The police have arrested a sex offender & i sure hope shes found alive & well but its not looking good. Its not safe anywhere you go even if you think it is. Lets all hope for the best. http://abcnews.go.com/WN/search-miss...ory?id=9971804

I think I heard this morning that he has been charged with murder, but sadly no body has been found yet. Women out there, NEVER NEVER go jogging, hiking, etc alone. Her family said she rarely went jogging alone, but it only takes one time. Please understand, I'm not blaming the victim here but it just makes me so angry to see this happen and I hope it is a wake up call (again) to the women of SD.

I used to watch women running in the canyons alone when I rode the Coaster and thought...what are they thinking??? Anybody could be lurking around, and they are. SD is no safer than anywhere else when it comes to sex offenders.

I wonder if this guy had anything to do with the high school girl who went missing in Escondido...they are around the same age. Apparently, they have linked him with a missing girl in Colorado Springs as well.

This is so very sad and my prayers go out to her family and friends.

I was not happy to see them say murder, but it's not looking good. So, so sad. My prayers go out to this family. Being young and blonde, she NEVER should have gone alone, especially in a park with brush and folage around. The parents moved here from Illinois where it's a heck of alot safer than California. My prayers go out to the girl and the parents.

Right, stick up for it. You may not think so, but having lived in both places, I guarantee it's safer in Illinois and I'm talking Chicago.

As a female runner, this kind of scares me. Although I never have ran in a canyon and I always run where there's other people...still...eek.
