What are some of the best places to watch the 4th of July fireworks displays?

When I lived there 20 years ago we liked to go up to the foothills and watch them all across the valley. It is fun watching them up close and personal (relatively speaking, of course), or lying on a blanket underneath the span of sparks.

Not sure who has great programs - do any of the schools host 4th of July productions?

I've got my place, but it's little and I'm not giving it away on a public forum!

If it's the veranda on that mountain view I will bring margaritas! I'm actually flying in that night (house hunting) - hope I'm there before the festivities begin.

At least there will be fireworks this year for sure. Last year they were about to be canceled because of lack of money, but local businesses contributed quite a bit and a few days ago it was announced there's still 32K left from last year, which is enough for this year. Next year... we'll see again, I guess! They even "gracefully" reopened 4 of the rest areas they'd closed. There was no darn place to pee on the road! Good thing Mikey D's are accommodating, but I'd rather stop in a rest area than get off the road for no other reason.

Eh, since you'll be house hunting, I'm sure you'll buy one of those houses with the verandas, so next 4th is secured at least!

If I score a house like that you'll be first on the invite list. Sadly, with the prices out there in Tucson is does not look likely!

Thanks. Well, there's certainly no shortage of such houses in Tucson! Just line those pockets!
