I thought the Saguaros were unique to the Sonoran desert and now I was watching a video and saw them in Bolivia! That spiked my curiosity and it turned out they can be found not only there, but also in Argentina. I'm embarrassed!

That's the video - look at #14.

These here do look somewhat different (hairy), but they still look like Saguaros, even though they're listed by different names... - PRECORDILLERA (ARGENTINA) natural landscapes: INDEX PAGE

They're not Saguaros. Just south of here in Sonora are Cardon cactuses that're bigger than Saguaros though look similar. South America has it's share of large cacti, but Saguaros are only found in the Sonoran. They're still our cactus.

I dunno, man... Particularly those in Bolivia (in the video) look just like ours!

We had natural Prickly Pear cactus at 9200 ft. in Colorado, and they'd bloom every August with a yellow flower. So, it wouldn't surprise me if there were "cousins" of our Saguaros other places in the world. Heck, even Hawaii has cactus!

Southern Baja and Aruba also have similar type of cactus that LOOK like Saguaros, but they are different species. It's easy to get them confused when looking at pictures. You really have to travel to these regions to really see the difference. Saguaros are unique to the Sonoran desert only, which encompasses southern AZ, a small part of southern CA, and northern Mexico. Those are the only places where Saguaros grow naturally.

Been to 3 of those places (Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon - and the most stunning place I've ever seen: Bora Bora).

And no those are not Saguaros in Bolivia - but they DO look a LOT like them.
