My husband is considering a position in Tucson. We are coming from the Mid-West. The public school system my kids are attending is EXCELLENT. Wondering what things look like in Tucson? And also what neighborhoods are connected with EXCELLENT schools. Thanks.

I can't compare our schools to the Mid-West, since I've never lived there, but Tucson has some excellent school districts. The top rated are Vail, Catalina Foothills, and Tanque Verde. Amphitheater and TUSD both have individual excellent schools, but their overall rating is lower. Our daughter is in Vail and we love it. She is an advanced student and gets plenty of challenges. The teachers and administration are responsive and engaged.

These districts serve the SE, North foothills, and NE parts of town, respectively.
