Every palm tree I see looks like it's dead now from that cold snap we had. Does anybody know if they'll recover or are they in fact dead? This would be a terrible lose, I always enjoy looking at them

Chances are that many of them will survive----if you look at the top, middle, of the palms, you will note that many-----if not most---- of the palms have new fronds coming out.

It all depends on what part of town your in. I must live in a cold well because we lost a LOT of trees during the big freeze in our neighborhood (more willow acacia than anything else). I work near the airport, and all the palms and other trees around the airport area look like they are doing just fine. There are areas where every single prickly pear cactus also died, and other areas where they are still thriving. I was at the nursery last weekend, and there were many people there sharing stories about what they lost. It's sad, but it's also a chance to start over with some more hardy varieties.
