Moderator cut: rude Average temperature statistics don't mean anything. Anyone who says it's "cooling off" must think they can really tell the difference between 107 and 105.

And I've been here for 10 years so stop pretending that this place is some sort of paradise.

its hot still. certainly monsoon is mostly over and the dry heat returns, but what you rarely hear about is the lack of moisture makes the sun on your skin feel like you are in a microwave. most of us that live here have just about had it with the temps by the time sept comes around so we can be a bit cranky. you might enjoy, you might hate depends. where are you coming from? oh and drink lots and lots of water

Well, they don't mean anything to people who consider facts to be nothing more than pesky annoyances...

August: 98F typical in early August with humidity spikes due to Monsoon rains can feel sweltering.
September: 90F typical in late September with much lower humidity and less frequent rains makes for what I consider "warm" afternoons. 90 isn't exactly unbearable.

8 degrees between early August and late September *IS* a cooling trend. Yea, there are the occasional 100F days in Sept, and there are also the occasional <90F days too. That's why there are averages and extremes. But I suppose some people only pay attention to the extremes.

Please remember that if you are listing averages, state where they are recorded. The temps at the airport (typically where people get their listed temps) can be quite different than in town. And there is a coherent argument against using long term averages as the concrete heat island has grown much larger than it was in the 70s. This has been shown to have a large effect on nighttime lows making them higher than past years. I am not sure on the daytime highs.

I rode a motorcycle in Tucson for 5 years even in summer and it was hella hot on the streets, maybe ten degrees above the stated outside temps. For me: September is still very much apart of summer and I dont subjectively notice a cooldown until mid October.

When someone asks a general question about the climate in Tucson, I'm not going to start talking about micro-climates. The averages I quoted were averages for the Tucson "area" from city-data.com (link below), which includes data from over 4000 weather stations in the area. Yea, I'm sure there are some small heat islands in Tucson that can get 10F warmer than the rest of the city, and some parks that are 10F cooler. But that's true pretty much anywhere.
