For pet teeth cleaning we use Marana Veterinary Clinic,
13800 Lucket Rd, Marana AZ, 85653, 520-686-6996. Very reasonable as compared to the standard vet office for teeth.

We really like Dr. Samuels at Central Animal Hospital. Fair prices, answers questions, always responds to phone calls quickly. We have four dogs and have always been happy taking them there. We have dealt with regular visits as well as Valley Fever in one of our dogs. I called all the time and questioned everything and the techs were/are always patient with me.

Thanks to both of you.

But I'm looking for a vet that cleans teeth w/ sevoflurane rather than worse isoflurane, which uses no pre-anesthesia & thus is safer for pets.

Anyone know if these vets use sevo & not iso? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Central Animal Hospital uses isoflurane. What is the reason for preferring the sevo if you don't mind me asking? I've only done a little bit of research, but most of the information I found said that the iso is just as safe, there is just a difference in recovery time and "depth of anesthesia" but I didn't research thoroughly. Now I'm curious!

I don't know if there are only specialists or if they take regular patients, but I was very impressed with Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialists on E. Ft. Lowell Rd. When I spent a month in Arizona, my dog had a possible cancer scare (turned out to be benign), and we went there for tests. They were excellent with my dog.

I, too, wanted the safer sevo rather than iso for my dog, but could not find a vet who used sevo. This is in TN, not in AZ where things might be different. The vets explained to me that sevo is much more expensive and so few people are willing to pay for it, that they don't even offer it as an option.

I use Oracle Road Pet Clinic in the Home Depot shopping center at Oracle and First in Oro Valley. Dr. Nuradin uses isoflurane. My Yorkie has had iso for her whole life, and I don't see a problem. Dr. Nuradin is wonderful, soft spoken, and good to work with. More importantly, my Yorkie just LOVES him!

I see many vets using isoflurane but none hardly using the more $$$ sevo.

I called Feline Limited on Campbell & they use iso. But they have a cat ONLY vet, & thus I may go there w/ my 1 cat. I'd like a cat vet to see cats only & thus be best prepared to treat ONLY a cat.

Thanks so far for all info & if anyone goes to Dr. Upchurch @ Feline Ltd., I'd like to see how you guys like that office too. Thanks again.

I also use Dr. Nuradin, although we are new to his practice. He worked for many years for the Banfield Clincis and has now opened his own practice. He is as she said, kind, soft-spoken and gentle with the animals. My neighbor just had her dog's teeth excised and his rates were reasonable.

For specialty work, The Veterinary Specialty Group of Tucson has been building a practice of specialists and the facility is new and state of the art. Most likely expensive, in that it is a specialty group. Additionally, they provide monthly lectures in their auditorium of issues specific to certain breeds of dogs and cats. The presentations are excellent.
