During heavy rush hour traffic, we're talking the worst part of the day, how long is the drive from Marana to the Tucson Mall area?

I don't want to waste time looking at homes in Marana if the drive is absolutely unreasonable.

THANK YOU!!

No I don't... because I haven't looked yet. I guess best to worst senario would help out, as in how long from the closest to furthest points.

Thanks

during rugged parts of rush hour, I guess it could take anywhere from fifteen minutes to nearly an hour....there is no freeway near Tucson Mall, but you may be on I-10 for a part of your journey depending on what part of Marana you're in....

Marana now goes "down" to the I-10/Orange Grove interchange (feels like Tucson there)....and Marana goes way "up" to the large Dove Mountain development....Continental Ranch development is in Marana, too.....and "old" (original) Marana is a ways out I-10 and has some tract homes out there, too....

on this city-data map, Marana city limits are shown (does not include Avra or Picture Rocks)....Dove Mtn is the far NE part of Marana and Continental Ranch is just NW of the 10 symbol...old Marana is nearly to the county line on I-10....Tucson Mall is just S of the 77 sign

Best case about 20 minutes. Figure about 1/2 hour-ish average if you are in the major housing areas like Continental Ranch or Gladden Farms or Dove Mountain. If you move out into the more rural areas could be 45 min. to an hour. River Road runs east/west just north of the mall, as it heads west it curves north and intersects Orange Grove just east of 1-10 which is the southern end of Marana. Newer, nice wide roadway. Not a bad drive, I make it quite often.

Tough question to answer, Scarbaugh.

I live very close to the Tucson Mall and my estimate would be about 20 to 30 minutes to the nearest parts of Marana (Dove Mountain for example) to more than an hour to Central Marana.

For what it is, Marana Inc. is immense. It's really hard to give a time-travel estimate until you know which part of the town you are considering. From old town Marana, it is at least 30 minutes; if you're talking southern Marana (Ina-Thornydale area), maybe 15 minutes.

Yes best case during traffic hours is 20 minutes, but I have several friends who love that.

From what we've seen and heard the area seems wonderful. I guess we'll just give it a shot and drive it during rush hour to see for ourselves. I appreciate everyones imput, it has been a great help!

People often define Marana differently too. For example, the city limits come down to near Ina Road at I-10, but you'll find that houses are listed as being in Marana even east of there, almost to Foothills Mall. Then there are isolated parts of Avra Valley that people will call "Marana" just for convenience sake. I've even heard Red Rock referred to as being in Marana. It's totally address-dependent. Could be 30 minutes to Tucson Mall in some areas, even without much traffic.
