Hello,

I'm a recent graduate if Digital Filmmaking from the Northeast. I am desperately seeking a new place to start my life and love Tucson. My question is really what sort of community is there for artists and media related professions?

Thanks!

There is a pretty thriving art community from what I hear. Don't know about filmmaking but poetry, theater, dance, and writing is all known in the area.

Tucson Galleries - Studios - Museums - Concerts - Events - Tucson CVB

If you want to peddle your art and make a living off of that, then you'd be in good company. Tucson has a large and supportive art scene.
Now, if you want to move here and get a job in media arts or graphic design or some other creative field, then you'll need to have an extremely solid portfolio, good past experience, and have some related, other useful skill (depends on the job, but could be web development, speak Spanish, medical experience, etc.), then you have a decent chance. UA has a big media arts program and produces a ton of graduates who want to stay in Tucson. But, of course, there's only so many jobs.
