asked some questions and didnt get a response about the casinos in Tucson. Is there a couple of casinos to choose from in the Tucson area and also what about the entertainment in the casinos are there any and also is the drinks free? thank you.

I have been to casino del sol, just to eat and I played the penny slot and won 11 cents.

The Desert Diamond Casino is located along I-19 at Pima Mine Road. It is between Tucson and Green Valley. Last year a man walked up to a $5.00 machine and on the first click he won $50,000! The year before a lady was playing the $1 Wheel of Fortune machine and hit for over one Million! They roped off the area and only allowed her and guards there while they waited for casino managers to come out from Phoenix to verify the win. They had to wait about 4 hours. While the lady waited she decided to play the wheel of fortune next to the jackpot machine and she hit for $1,000. I learned this from a person that works there that I know. This year I hit one jackpot for $2400 and one for $3,000. It can be fun if you set a limit and stick to it and also you must leave win you win. I have seen some people win and then put it all back in trying to win even more!

I like to go for the drinks more than the gambling....,but once I drink I get the gambling going .lol

There are no free adult beverages at either of the two Desert Diamonds, I don't know about the other casinos in the state. Just coffee and soda is free. I only frequent the Diamond on I-19. Of course, by the time you get out of the casino most sodas end up costing at least $20.00! Some a hundred!

Someone once told me that you should take all the money that you plan to gamble IN YOUR LIFETIME and put it on red or black at the roulette table and "let er go." You will either win big or go home crying, but you will never have to gamble again! I just do not have the nerve, so I am losing it slowly. There are many days that I should just give the guy at the door twenty bucks and go back home.

LOL, gotta love these helpful answers. I'll just add some entertainment info. Both casinos have a couple well-known blues bands (Bad News Blues Band is one) based in Tucson play most weekends, and sometimes during the week. Week nights are iffy, tho, and live music depends on the casino manager's mood at the moment. Ava Amphitheater does some bigger shows, maybe 80% of which are the rock & roll comeback band of the month, and the rest will be BB King, John Hammond, John Mayer (sp?), Indiginous, etc. Ticket prices for Ava events are in the $10-75 range.
