Hi Deborah: I'm in the same situation as yourself. Looking to head to Tucson around the first of March or April 2013. Ultimately want to rent/lease house with attached garage in nice, safe area, like north of River Road (from what I've heard). If I learn anything I'll send it your way. I may be taking a trip there in the first week of February to see for myself-again, I'll let you know. Good luck!

You would be able to find a 2-bedroom apartment with a lease for 6 months or possibly less. 4-bedroom generally has to be an actual house though, and most property managers want a one-year commitment on a lease, at a minimum. That said, it depends on your timeframe. Tucson is loaded with vacation rentals, but they get very expensive when you rent them for multiple months. They also change prices dramatically throughout the year, with February the highest (for the gem show) and June the lowest.
It also depends on whether or not you need a furnished place.
