there is definitely snow on upper Mt Lemmon and there may be more tomorrow and Weds as a moderate-size "storm" is predicted for later tonight and tomorrow....remember that chains and/or 4WD are sometimes required above a certain point (varies) on the Mt Lemmon highway....also, note that there will often be a lot of snow on north-facing slopes and almost none in sunny south-facing areas, even up high....

Mt. Lemmon Summerhaven Weather

call (520) 547-7510 for county road conditions.....

I just called....the road is open as of now (9am Sunday), but might change tonight or tomorrow....be careful of black ice in shady areas on the road....

Just a heads up. The storm may cause the Mt. Lemmon Highway to be closed to visitors on New Year's Day.

According to the news we watched at 10 pm last night (Sunday) Mt. Lemmon road was closed except for employees and residents. It remains under clouds at this time - 10am.

As of noon, the highway up Mt. Lemmon remains closed for people without with four-wheel drive or tire chains. Between 8 and 10" of snow fell overnight.
