Saw in the news last night that Tucson came in last place in the most dangerous cities in Arizona. I don't know what part of Tucson they were talking about, I have felt safe since I have been in Tucson.

Looks like you will be safer in Nogales and Bullhead City than in Tucson.

The complete list is at the bottom of the article.

Tucson has the worst crime rate along with Show Low and Glendale. You have a 1 in 14 chance of being a victim of a crime in any one year. I suspect though the crime rate is much higher. Tucson unlike a lot of other towns has made it rather difficult to report property crimes. You pretty much need access to a computer-internet to file a property crime. I would bet a lot of stuff never gets reported when the losses are small. In my neighborhood I had two bikes stolen out of my garage, neighbor had someone jump over a wall and steal a bike and a third neighbor had someone cut a lock off her bike and steal it. This is in one of the better neighborhoods.

Other than police doing revenue work (i.e. just sitting and doing speed radar), I see very few police cars actually patrolling (their REAL job). That definitely makes it easier to commit crimes here. I live pretty far out east, Speedway and camino seco, and see a police car once in a blue moon. I drive all over the north parts of the city for work and don't see too many police cars except doing revenue collection.
