Has anyone else here been to the original? Thoughts?

As for me, it was good. Very good. But to call it the best in the country... eh, I don't know.

Put it this way, I didn't eat a slice and decide that my search for great pizza was over nor have I had a burning desire to head back there.

I've been to the original. I really liked it, but wouldn't call it the best in the country either. In fact, I can't even remember which kind I had. I am glad it's coming to town though.

"Bianco, credited with starting the artisan pizza movement with his flagship Phoenix restaurant, said a lack of parking and patio space led him to the decision after two years of operating in Tucson.

The closure doesn't mean Bianco is abandoning the city. He plans to look for a new location to either rehab or build in the southern Arizona city."

So, why can't somebody get this guy some parking and patio space? How hard can that be?

Not that I personally understand the whole pizza thing anyway (?). To me, pizza is just... pizza. Pasta is pasta. Meatballs are meatballs... etc. I guess I ain't no connoisseur, you know?

The location was right in the densest area of Tucson in a small strip. If he wanted parking and a patio, then he should've looked a little further out.

I hope he can find another place in Tucson....

though, admittedly, if the place was really good, lack of parking and a patio should not keep people away....

I fear some patrons in Phx and Tucson only go there to say they went there, not out of any "best in the country" notions
