Yes, first paint job it's had since Pulte built it. They patched the cracks in the adobe before it was painted and even put new weatherstripping on the garage door. So it looks better than new. The HOA is letting us paint the trim on the houses a different color. When the houses were built they were all just sprayed one of two colors, with the trim painted the same as the body of the house. Now we have a much more extensive color palette of Dunn-Edwards paints to pick from so as the houses are being painted, they're starting to get more personality. It's surprising how much different it made the house look to have the detailing called out with another color. And it's still so warm out there are still flowers blooming outside since I covered them those couple of cold days we had. It's Dec. 19, about time I got festive.

I was in Tucson last week. Here is a photo taken two hours after I told the front desk it was the dirtiest laundry room I had ever seen.

It does sound like a great Christmas present!! New paint, accent trim, flowers blooming, fantastic company, beautiful weather (until tonight.....they're saying). And I'll bet the Christmas decorations will make the house look really festive! Congratulations!!

Tipping is an interesting question. I have never thought to tip a delivery guy. Not sure that I would. Mail lady and the newspaper guy yes. They both give exceptional service. I do find it funny that the only time we have contact with the newspaper guy is at Christmas hinting for a gift in a note. It would be nice to get a note in July telling us to call him if there is any questions or problems with delivery.

When we have workers at the house we always offer water, cokes etc. If it something that may take several days, like a roof, we grill burgers and smoke meats and serve them lunch and we provide a cooler with drinks and water. It is not a lot of effort. They can relax on their lunch hour and not have to drive somewhere. It's fun, they Love it too. It does pay off too. We feel by treating them nice they do a better job. Most all crews say that no one has ever offered them food. People have to eat. So I guess that is how we tip. We are now building a 4 car garage, need a new roof, and adding solar. Time to BBQ some pulled pork. Lets eat!
