We've have several current threads on C-D Tucson with people asking questions and seeking education about water, or lack thereof, in Pima County. Here's your chance to hear from experts in a casual setting.

The SCIENCE CAFE, a free educational lecture series for the community, presented by the University of Arizona's College of Science, is concentrating its upcoming meetings on water issues. The title of the series is "Follow the Water," and the each monthly meeting (third Tuesday) will focus on some aspect of water issues. The series will culminate on May 20 with a presentation by Professor Robert Glennon, the nationally known expert on the legal aspects of water politics, whom I often quote here when I reply to questions about water.

The SCIENCE CAFE is, I repeat, FREE and open to the public. The talks are very informal and I've never been to one where the speakers didn't take questions. All Cafés begin at 6:00 pm. and go until 7:30 p.m. This semester the CAFEs are being held at Magpie's Gourmet Pizza, 605 N. 4th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85705. Magpies on 4th was remodeled recently, including a large covered patio. That's where the lectures will take place, so dress according to the weather. Most people order food or beverages during the Cafe series, but it's not required. Magpies Gourmet Pizza

I've been to some of the Science Cafes and I can attest that they are fun and informative. We are lucky to have the University's generous Science Department Outreach program in our city.
