I'll be researching at other online places, too, but with the somewhat-evolving downtown scene, wondering if anybody here has ideas for a casual and healthy-ish place for early dinner on a Saturday late afternoon.....we tried the Hub last year and it was very good, but wondering if there is some place else we haven't thought of....old or new, but prefer locally owned, friendly and casual, not heavy and definitely not a wine-and-candlelight place.....even an order-at-the-counter place is fine....

Don't know exactly what you are looking to eat, but check out Thunder Canyon Brewery. The food has always been excellent, laid back atmosphere. Will be a little busy in the evening though.

thanks for the TCB recommendation....our large group went there and it was very successful....comfortable and spacious, very competent server, excellent food.....
