Hi all!

Back in 2002 we lived in the Ledges West Campus apartments/townhouses (at least that's what they're called now - not sure if they changed the name because I don't recall what it was before) and we really liked the neighborhood.

Now we're looking at moving back to Tucson and immediately thought of that area, and likely even that same apartment complex. I'm just wondering how things have changed in that area/neighborhood in the last 12 years. Figured I'd ask some locals that hopefully have some insight! I live far away or I'd visit. I used Google Streetview and saw a lot of things the same, but there's more than meets the eye! (womp womp... Transformers joke!)

Thanks so much!

Wendy

You are going to find this area largely untouched since you left. I'm sure some new businesses exist and some old ones have left, but for the most part I don't see any difference whatsoever when I drive through it. Most of the changes that have occurred nearby since your departure have happened in the downtown area, which you'll be close to and which is now (as compared to 2002) a viable destination rather than the somewhat depressing collection of vacant storefronts that you may remember.

Recently I started going over to the west campus of Pima Community College for a regular meeting. It's not a neighborhood I'd previously had any reason to travel to before. The first time I drove through the area (I took a wrong turn, so even went on some streets I didn't need to), my first thought was, "It's pretty nice over here. It seems a bit on the quiet side but all the homes looked pretty well tended, including the townhomes you mentioned, which caught my eye immediately. I know absolutely nothing beyond that, but speaking purely as a viewer, my reaction was positive.

Thanks, guys! I'm excited to know our old area is about how we left it! Not what I was expecting to hear, which makes it even better!
