I live in Oro Valley on the east side of Oracle between First Avenue and Tangerine. For the last few nights, and sometimes during the days, we see several helicopters flying from the NE to the South along the west side of the Catalinas parallel, but to the east of Oracle in a group. They go right over the houses and they're flying so low that our windows rattle and noise is fairly deafening. At night, they don't shine spot lights just have the normal blinking lights, so I doubt they're police helicopters or Flight for Life. It's very unusual for them to fly overhead a couple of times a night and during the day, as it's just started happening a couple of weeks ago.

Could these be military helicopters heading for D-M or Yuma for training missions? They must take a different route home, because I only see them heading south, not north. And I don't know where "home" is for them.

I don't know what they are, but I saw some on Thursday night. Not flying as low as you describe where I was, but I saw/heard them from my car when I was driving near my house (La Cholla/Overton area). They did appear to be headed south. So you're not alone in your sighting if that helps.
