I agree with Gloria. My wife and I spent a lot of time researching where to move to from Massachusetts. We came out here 4 times over a two year period. We traveled and visited properties all around Tucson. We were looking and found a outlaying area that met our requirements. The best way is to see for yourself. I did not spend a lot of effort on areas like downtown and South Tucson because we did not want to live in the city. We have now been here for over a year and a half. It was worth the effort to get here and observe the areas in person.

The South East portion of the area is dominated by the Davis Monthan Air Force Base and South of the City is the Tucson International Airport and Raytheon Corporation Complex. The Land fill is also located South of the City. The runway that get used the most at Tucson International is 11L. There is a very active Air National Guard Wing located at the Tucson International Airport. The jets take off in a south easterly direction (120 degrees magnetic) and they take off in afterburner. If you get in that area and spend some time you can not miss the noise. You should be aware of that before you move to that area. I know it is the sound of freedom. I served in the Air Force and maintained F-15s. I love flying and it is main reason that I live here. You should make it a point to check that area out before committing to anything.

Helloo, my wife n I literally just moved to Tucson outer limits with our young adult son. Our son will be looking for work around the Tucson area and is also in very early drug addiction recovery. I am hoping to get a general feel and lay of the land so to say; can anybody give me a heads up as where my son's travels should not take him and will definitely not benefit his infant stages of recovery. He is a recovering heroin addict, so I am trying to find out if and where the worst places may be. Kids now a days seem to be far more resilient and craftier than their parents as to tracking down their demons. So atleast if I can't head him off or veer him onto another course, worse case scenario will be I might know where to look for him in the future. Thank you all. I love this area!!
