Did the drive about 5 months ago, beautiful area entering the ascent up to MT Lemmon. I was taken back though as I stopped at one of the first turnouts to get a view & found the ground littered with used insulin syringes off to the bushes a few feet from the car door. I have to think it was drug use or an insulin diabetic emptied out his sharp box on the floor which I doubt was the case. Is there a big problem out that way with injectable drug abuse? I would think its heroin.

I must have led a sheltered life, as I've never encountered such a scene up on Mt Lemmon. Hopefully you reported it to the US Forest Service authorities up there.

Every once in a while the story comes to mind again about those luckless folks who bought a house only to discover the previous owner had brought home and buried medical waste all around the property. And the new owners were liable to have it cleaned up. Never saw anything like that up there either.

I've never seen any litter up there! That's horrible! Mt Lemmon is so clean. It does sound like maybe one person cleared out their car. People accumulate horrid stuff in their vehicles like rotting food in foam containers and medical waste.

It takes these creeps a few minutes to get rid of their junk where family will not find it. Gad
