Good point.

Although I've not used her, I found this realtor's website to be very well organized. Here is the section for the 55+ communities north of Tucson: TUCSON RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES - Brenda O'Brien, ABR, CRS, GRI

And here is the section for Quail Creek listings: QUAIL CREEK - Tucson Retirement Community

There is also the Del Webb Rancho Del Lago in Vail which is (I think) southeast of Tucson. No link, but you could search for it.

To help answer your questions on proximity to things, you could pick any house and put the address into google maps, then use the "search nearby" function to look for supermarkets, etc. That would give you a general idea of what's nearby and how far of a drive it is.

I'm not yet a resident (hope to be soon), but have found this method helpful to get oriented.
Good link, thanks.

To correct a bit of info.
Saddlebrooke has community rooms in addition to multiple restaurants. So potlucks and hosted dinners are possible. Going to a potluck tonite'
Healthcare has expanded considerably in the recent years. Oro Valley is only about ten minute drive. Full range of doctors, dentists, urgent care, medical imaging all available.
Saddlebrooke is large enough that there is a physical therapy practice and some doctors available for appointments in the mini shopping center near a bank in the middle of main Saddlebrooke (not ranch)
Ranch is nice, but main Saddlebrooke may provide a better mix of amenities and better views.
Tall fences are allowed within some guidelines. Nice thing is with elevation changes your views are still excellent with lots of open spaces and mountains right there.
Ranch is smaller lots and narrow streets. Flat with more wind. But very nice fancy pool. And very nice woodworking shop.
The main Saddlebrooke has multiple restaurants, clubhouses, golf courses, pickelball, performing arts center, dog park, softball fields, Performing Arts Center, multiple gyms and multiple libraries, the works. Very good On fees and costs.
