Illegal fireworks in Tucson?? (Phoenix: loan, neighborhood, buy)

I plan on moving to Tucson when I can finally escape so Cal. The Illegal fireworks here is insane all around the 4th. I have to drug my dogs into oblivion every night. Last night was like a war zone here. I was wondering if Tucson also has this issue? Since your close to the border where they can buy illegal fireworks I think it would be. Hopefully this makes sense because I'm a zombie this morning. I didn't know if I came take another year of this

I can't speak for Tucson but every 4th in Phoenix there is no shortage of celebrations with illegal fireworks. It's like that everywhere I've lived in the country. In MI people smuggled the good stuff in from Indiana.

Sad, isn't it, Finper? The blatant disrespect for the law, especially a "safety law" is disgusting.

As for Tucson . . . I live near the Tucson Mall and heard a few "pops and bangs" last night but definitely nothing excessive.

On the other hand, I think it's ironic and sad that on a holiday designated to celebrate our freedoms, some of our freedoms are taken away from us.

What people really should be doing on the 4th is light up a cigarette or smoke a pipe. We owe much of our freedom to tobacco. When Benjamin Franklin was sent to Paris to arrange a loan to help fight the British, the bankers demanded 5 million pounds of tobacco as collateral for the loan. Both Washington and Jefferson were tobacco farmers and the British, and the French, at that time, were highly addicted to tobacco, and the British wanted our tobacco fields, as they found out they couldn't grow quality tobacco in England.

I didn't hear much either. I live in the western foothills. But it is like that everywhere I have lived as well. If they went after everyone with illegal fireworks they would need an army. The only thing I would worry about is the fireworks starting a fire whit it being so dry.

Where I am in SW, I never heard one pop. Nuthin'. Not even on the 4th. Last year, when I was living in the OC, it went on for weeks and weeks.
