I know it says that, but the locals say it isn't that bad. I worry, too, about it since I'm alone as well. Here's another link and really, I don't think any of the crime information anywhere coincides.

As far as friends go, I think making them in GV would be very easy. I hope to find a place in a 55+ community if I do make this move a reality. They have so much to do in those places. And, the town is geared toward seniors and there's something always going on.
