I think there are quite a few single people in Green Valley, and many more if you include neighboring Sahuarita. I don't think finding people to do things with or even finding a partner would be an issue.

The first time I ever heard about a javelina I thought I was a mythical creature like the "jackalope". Are they considered an invasive species in that area? Can anything be done for the one with the bad leg?

I would say that Green Valley is approximately 65% women. There are plenty of single people in the area, many of whom are widows/widowers.

They are a native species, and were here long before people built Green Valley or Tucson.

From what I have read on Javelina, they originated in South America and over time, expanded their range to the southwestern US. Regarding the one with the bad leg, I have checked in to it and the local wildlife rescue said if they could capture him, they would check the leg and if they could not help him, they would euthanize him. He seems to be doing reasonably well in the wild given his injury. I have decided to stay out of it and let nature take it's course. I have observed this animal in this condition all the way back to July of 2018, and thought he would not last a month then, but as you see in this video, he is still capable of fighting for a mate and territory. He may look pitiful when he walks slowly, but he certainly looked formidable at full speed!!! Javelina is what they are called locally, but they are actually Collared Peccary's. I've been wondering whether the javelina figured out that he will be seen as vulnerable if he limps along slowly. Then he can suddenly revive and go after an interloper.

Not sure about that....I am not sure they even think at that level. I think this javelina has a real issue with the leg, but I am thinking that just like how people put in a certain situations are capable of amazing feats when the adrenaline flows, it may be the same for this javelina in a "fight or flight" situation.
