tijlover, ask around for folks who have used Mexican dentists in Nogales. Their quality varies. Some are really excellent, some places not so much.

I have avoided Laser Dental, and have been going to a hole in the wall dental clinic just to the left of it down the street, and they've, so far, done good work. And no, it's not one of Laser Dental's 2 other clinic's they own on that bloc, with different names. I'm not averse to going to "hole-in-the-wall" dental clinic's as I used one in Tijuana for 10 years. But one must be careful.

I really don't think all that high-tech imagery that Laser Dental offers is even necessary. Recall, going to dentists in the 60's, 70's, without all that imagery, and they did a good job without it.

Update: Protesters for the second day now are blocking the entrance into Nogales, MX! We're talking car crossings! I'm still going down there tomorrow morning for dental work, I still don't see any problem, I'll wear a mask as I'm crossing the border.

One of my neighbors has a home in Puerto Penasco, husband and wife, and have dual citizenship, and his wife went down there a couple weeks ago, and apparently, is having some problems getting back across the Border. But, at the same time, she says she feels safer down there than up here.

You risk not getting back into the US, and look for increased violence against gringos. You can’t wait a couple of month for dental work?

I've been waiting as long as I can, it's become critical. I'll first ask lots of questions from both sides of the entrance/exit's, talk to people who have crossed, before I cross.

I just returned from my "Essential" trip across the Border to Nogales. No problems whatsoever, except given the few crossing, they've cut down to one guard, so there's no time savings.

In the lobby of Laser Dental, there were 2 couples from Green Valley, a couple from Tucson (snowbirds from WI) and various single people.

I had nightmares of protesters hurling eggs/tomatoes at me once I entered, but no protesters at all, everyone was very civil as usual.

Restaurants are still open in Nogales, but very little activity. A number of Mexicans wearing masks.

They're much more vigilant of what you buy there, it's unusual for them to rifle thru your bags, questioning why I needed this medication or that medication. Ah Well!

I've crossed the border in Tijuana over 80 times and hardly any questions are asked, you sail right thru.

That's nice. The people at the dentist joint should give you free work for the promotion of the service here.

Going to Mexico for dental work saves you 70% on what you need done already. What'd'ya want, free Mexican cartel drugs? Come on, get a tighter grip!

I'm aware dental is cheaper in Mexico. My point was the promotion of one chain over other shops is pitch man worthy.

I see. I didn't mean to blurt out a rude response to your statement like that. tijlover and I both give our favorite Mexican dentists pretty steady praise on city-data forums. Mine gives me business cards and hats advertising their office.
