We are driving cross country from Laguna Beach, CA to Tampa, FL to deliver my daughter for college. We need to get some miles in the first afternoon after loading up the RV and will then need to make an overnight stop between Laguna Beach and Tuscan. Any suggestions appreciated.

You'll probably get more and better responses if this is posted in the general Arizona forum.

Come down I-5 to I-8 head east to Yuma....where you will find scores of RV parks, mostly vacant this time of year. Pick one with a pool, you'll need it. From Yuma on to Tucson is another 5 hours. Wait until you cross into AZ to fill up...it's much cheaper.

If you have time, order this: The 2020 Good Sam Guide Series for the RV & Outdoor Enthusiast ....and this: the Next EXIT 2020

If you only want to drive a few hours the first day, Yuma would be a good choice to stop for the night, and there are plenty of RV parks that can accommodate you, especially in the summer when there are fewer RVs around. The drive from Yuma to T-U-C-S-O-N will take you a little over 3 hours; I've driven it more times than I can count. Although if you are starting out early from Yuma, you can get a lot further than Tucson in a full day's drive.

Do note that Yuma, Arizona is one of the fastest growing Covid hot spots in Arizona right now.

And we (USA) thought Covid-19 would be suppressed in the he heat...

It's pretty hot in Singapore and other Asian countries that recorded high transmission rates in Jan and Feb 2020.
