This is too cool not to share. It just happened this morning! These deer appeared to almost pose for the camera!

This week one evening I drove over to the mailboxes across the neighborhood from me. There were 2 very young Mule Deer in the road looking uncertain about what to do about the car. The parents were watching and waiting in a yard across the road. I guess they were teaching the babies how to cross roads, but it was kind of a scary way to do it. I and a couple other cars stopped. The roads are dirt and pretty rough but there are always a few people around who speed anyway. Fortunately for the little deer they made it OK. I saw them all again the next day in the same area.

I am glad you got to see the deer, and thanks for stopping and looking out for them Windwalker2. It is always a bit scary as animal babies of any kind go through the learning process. Sadly, it can be a fatal proposition for them. I really hate speeders, especially in areas where there is known animal activity!!!

Wow, those mule deer seem to have been studying you as much as you were studying them. Or maybe better said that they were just keeping an eye on you. They know exactly how close, or how fast, to let you move before they would take off like a rocket. They did seem curious and enjoyed watching you! I've never seen one, and they have much longer ears than the whitetails up here in MI.
