Hello all, We have a home in Green Valley, specifically up in Canoa Estates, and want to install an in ground pool.We love the GVR pools and use them for lap swimming, but many times we have wished we had our own private pool with no rules and nobody but us.
That being said, I've been talking to some pool folks and getting an education about all of the options and possibilities when installing an in ground pool. There are many.
We are from Oregon where pools are pretty uncommon . So I don't know much, but I'm learning!
I'm hoping to hear from folks that have a pool or better have had one installed, that would like to share their experience regarding such things as pool heating with gas ,solar or electric heat pumps, or not heating at all. Perhaps a preference for Chlorine or salt. and what your preferred pool finish is, be it Pebble tech, Plaster etc.
If you have had a good experience with a particular pool company, I'd love to hear. So far Valley Oasis has been the most patient and knowledgeable people I've spoken with.

I have solar heating on mine. It extends the swimming season by a few months, but doesn't heat it enough in the winter to swim laps. I'm not in GV but west of the Sierritas at 3500'.
If I had GVR I would never want a pool. They can be a major hassle.
