When I lived in Phoenix, my last stop was in one of the historic neighborhoods near downtown. It was gentrifying so fast it made your head spin and frankly there were times I couldn't believe that I was actually living there due to it's reputation from two decades prior. Up until the early 2000's the place I was living was known as a hotbed of gang activity, drug dealing and it's where Danny Bonaduce(of Partridge Family fame) got arrested after his encounter with a transgendered prostitute. The area still had a problem with transgendered hookers working the streets until the past five years.

But now that same neighborhood is full of trendy bars and restaurants and half million dollar homes sold to young techies moving to Phoenix.

Is there any neighborhood in Tucson undergoing as dramatic of a turnaround as the Coronado or Roosevelt neighborhoods in Phoenix?
