I'm looking at buying a place between the Tucson Medical Center and the East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery in NE Tucson. Does anyone have any insight as to what this area is like? Is it high crime? Any insight helps. Thanks!

Google Map of the aforementioned area.

This is about two miles east of Grant Rd and Alvernon, which is considered a high crime area. However, the area you highlighted on the map has some nice pocket areas just north of Grant and Craycroft with red brick homes from the 1960s-70s. If you are working at TMC, that area would be quite convenient. In addition, you are 5 minutes from lots of shopping (Costco, Target), Udall Park and a number of good restaurants. One other benefit to this area--it is very close to The Loop, which is an excellent bike/pedestrian path that loops through Tucson.

I live @ 5000 East Grant Rd near Rosemont, been here 3 years, I ferret-leash walk in this area, all hours of the nite and I've always felt safe. Some homeless people, but they're no danger.

And you've got Crossroads Festival, Swan/Grant, with 10-12 restaurants to choose from, a 9-screen movie house, Fry's and Trader Joe's and a Walgreen's open 24 hours.

This area is about as paradisical as you can get, more conveniences than downtown Tucson.
