I can't believe this keeps happening to me. I went to my neighbor's house (Heinz) to help out with some landscape work this morning around 6 am. Just as we had all the tools loaded on the tractor and were heading to the work location, I saw Heinz motioning to me. I realized he had seen something, so I went to investigate. The video shows what I saw starting at 6:11 this morning 8/16/2022. The structure you see is Heinzs' 40 panel solar array. I know it is kind of in the way, but I chose not to try and get any closer because as you can see, one of the does appeared to be quite alarmed (probably because of the babies). Later in the afternoon when I went for my afternoon walk, I went to walk through a friend's property and got about 10 steps in the driveway and saw a buck and doe laying down right near their porch, the same porch where I saw the bobcat kitten just a few days ago! I got a bit of video and decided to walk away and let them rest. It was 94 degrees, and they had found some shade to rest in. The buck looked like the same buck from the morning, so I am guessing these were the same deer, and the fawns were stashed somewhere nearby. I think I mentioned in a recent video that the first week in August is the peak fawning season for mule deer, and these three fawns did not look very old. If you watch closely, they actually walk under one of the does and the buck. They sure are cute!!!

This being August, it's not a surprise to see the buck still "in felt."

Only a forked-horn, but it's still early in the game, 2-3 months before the rut. I DID notice some "battle scars" on the buck's left side. Might be from last year's rut activities. I expect more points on those antlers before long.

Again, always enjoy your video's.

I have seen some impressive bucks so far this year, so it should be an interesting rut. I have yet to see any bucks fighting, but I have seen some hanging together. Glad to hear that you enjoy the videos!!!
