Hi all,
I am relocating to Tucson in 2 weeks, and I will be driving with my my pug from New York City (hopefully he'll do o.k. on this road trip ).
Since I see a good number of "transplants" on this board from eastern states, I'm wondering if anyone here has driven out from the east, and if so, what route did you take?
Of course I would assume this time of year it would make the most sense to take the southern-most route so I could avoid any snow/blizzard threats (although I'm making a stop in Lousiville to see family on the way).
Just hoping to get some advice.
Can't wait to start our new life in beautiful Tucson
Thanks everyone!
Amy

we drove from NY the last week of June, first week of July with our 2 pugs...
We took the Northern route....stopping overnight in Sandusky Ohio for my son to go to Cedar Point Park....went west until Co. then started heading south. Best bet would to call up AA and they will route it for you, as they did for us...plus it has all the pet friendly hotel's listed.
Your pug will do fine, get some Rescue Remedy (Bach flower essence) if you can and use a crate. He will sleep fine in it and cry when it's time for a potty break. Hubby said we should have pulled a Port-O-Potty...as we made so many potty stops along the way.
Good luck on your trip...and have a new name tag made up with your cell phone number on it as a just in case.......
