I find it odd that i really havent found a mexican food place that serves carnitas.I've even ask many people and they look at me funny, asking whats that.Thats one of the main things i enjoy eating at a mexican joint.

The places i've been too

Manuels in green valley
La placita in green valley
La Parrilla Suiza
Madre Mia's Mexican Cuisine

Oh yea i almost forgot

Club 21- Yuck
Maria Bonita Restaurant- not bad.Only down side is if you want more chips after the first bowl, you have to pay for it
El Charro on Broadway

The top two are the best ones so far

I'm not that much into Mexican food, but people consider El Charro one of the best restaurants: Welcome to El Charro Cafe - Tastes and Traditions of Tucson

I love this molcajete down in Nogales (see the link below), but haven't been able to find it anywhere here... not even in other places in Mexico for that matter.

Perhaps it's just a regional dish. I remember seeing it on a menu in Puerto Vallarta, but never got to this restaurant.

I've heard good things about this place from folks on here and word of mouth from a few friends. We haven't gone yet but really hope to!

I don't know about the rest of their food, but strictly for tacos, the best ones I've had in town... by far, btw, are at Pico de Gallo on 6th street down near I-10. It's really a hole in the wall with a few tables, but very good. I think they even got a mention in the New York Times (which is probably pretty impressive for a taco stand.)

They make their own tortillas from a mound of massa right on the grill. They have some shrimp tacos that are exquisite.

Just my .02

True lovers of Mexican hole in the walls might roll their eyes, but I like the Ultimate Fajitas in On the Border very much. Everybody, rest assured - it IS in town!

My husband and I went there in February after a long day house/area hunting here. We had a decent meal there and he LOVES fajitas.
